Studio Dirma Janse is an information design studio based in Amsterdam.
I design visual solutions for complex subjects and data, specialising in scientific and technological topics. In addition, I work as part of the infographic team at NRC, where I focus on similar subject matter.
Visual experimentation is central to my practice. I am particularly interested in exploring how scientific visualization can be further developed, and which forward-thinking tools and technologies can help push this field forward.
My name is Dirma Janse, I am an information designer and the person behind Studio Dirma Janse. I am driven by the challenge of visually translating complex information. To do so, I fully immerse myself in each subject, and I value how a visual solution can make information more accessible and easier to understand for a broader audience.
My goal is for people to gain deeper insight into a topic through, for example, an infographic — and ideally to become fascinated by it. I am constantly searching for new possibilities and techniques.
I draw inspiration from many sources: technology (its underlying logic), inventors, nature, art and science.
